If you had the chance to invite any fictional character to Thanksgiving, who would it be? Our team brainstormed some entertaining responses to this question, such as a billy-bumbler, a private investigator, a wizard, a witch, a demon, and a pirate.
Harry Dresden
"He could use a break and a home-cooked meal."
Bobbi - Executive Director

"Harry Dresden, whose full name is Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden, is a male human wizard with a talent for thaumaturgy, evocation, alchemy, an
necromancy, working as a private investigator out of Chicago." - Fandom
You can enjoy Harry's adventures in the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher starting with the first book in the series, Storm Front, available in regular print; audiobook on CD & Libby; and e-book on Libby.
Nanny Ogg
"She enjoys a good time & would sing the hedgehog song."
Christin - Circulation Clerk

"Gytha Ogg (usually called Nanny Ogg) is a character from Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. She is a witch and a member of the Lancre Coven. Gytha is known for her practical approach to magic and her no-nonsense attitude. She is also renowned for her culinary skills and is an excellent cook. Gytha Ogg is often depicted as a strong, capable, and independent character, with a sharp sense of humor." - Wikipedia
Nanny Ogg weaves her way in and out of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series that starts with the first book, The Color of Magic, available in regular print and e-book on hoopla.
Leon
"To enjoy his witty banter and charm."
Emily - Adult Education Coordinator

Leon, a demon who is obsessed with the woman he is supposed to kill, has been imprisoned to do the bidding of his cult leader. You can travel into Leon's dark romantic world filled with demons, cults, and ancient evils in the Souls Trilogy that begins with Harley Laroux's book, Her Soul to Take, available in regular print and audiobook on hoopla.
Monkey D. Luffy
"He'll eat everything and it would be funny!"
Marcus - Circulation Clerk

"Monkey D. Luffy, commonly known as "Straw Hat Luffy" or simply "Straw Hat", is the founder and captain of the increasingly infamous and powerful Straw Hat Pirates. He pursues the legendary treasure of the late Gol D. Roger in order to become the new Pirate King and reach a further, untold dream (currently known to only his crew, family and closest friends). He believes that being the Pirate King means having the most freedom in the world." - Fandom
Embark on your pirate adventure with Monkey by picking up the first graphic novel, One Piece Vol. 1 Romance Dawn, in the series written by Eiichiro Oda, which is available in regular print.
Oy
"Because this heroic billy-bumbler is a good boy and deserves a proper meal!"
Rachel - Circulation Clerk

Oy, a courageous billy-bumbler in Roland Deschain's second ka-tet, is extremely loyal to his companions. Resembling a mix of a raccoon, badger, and dog, Oy has intelligent, gold-ringed eyes that convey his emotions. At Rachel's table, Oy can eat anything he desires!
While Oy doesn't make an appearance until the third book of the Dark Tower series, you can begin your adventure in book one, The Gunslinger, and discover that "there are other worlds than these." The Gunslinger is available in regular print; audiobook on CD, Libby, and cloudLibrary; and in e-book on Libby.
