Get A Card

Get A Card

Who can get a card?

Cards are issued free to residents (kindergarten through Adult) of the Vespasian Warner Public Library District.  The District encompasses the Clinton Unit 15 boundaries with the exception of Tunbridge Township.  Tunbridge Township residents must pay an annual non-resident fee to obtain a library card.

How do I get a library card?

Residents need to provide state-issued photo I.D. with their current address, showing they live within the Vespasian Warner Library District, to obtain a library card. If the resident's photo I.D. does not have their current address on it, the resident will also need to provide an official document with their current address. Examples include: a piece of mail, a check or check stub, rent receipt, or vehicle registration. For children, the parent or legal guardian needs to provide the above information.  Those who reside in Tunbridge Township will need to bring in a photo I.D. and their tax bill.  Tax bills can be looked up online by clicking here.

What if I don't live in the district?

The Vespasian Warner Public Library District participates in the Illinois State Library's Non-Resident Card Program.  The annual fee is based on the tax bill of the non-resident. You can pay your non-resident fee online by visiting our E-pay page. If you live in a different library district and have a card in good standing, you are welcome to use your card here.

What if I lose my card?

Please contact the Library as soon as possible to alert us that you have lost your card!  You can replace your library card for $1.00 the next time you visit.

Do I have to have my card with me to check out?
