About the Event

Join us for the third event in the series highlighting the local DeWitt County Museum exhibit, Prairie Flyers: A Century of Aviation in DeWitt County. Waynesville native Ken Shaffer served more than 20 years in the military as U.S. Air Force pilot and reservist. He later worked as a pilot for UPS hauling cargo from Alaska to Asia. Shaffer’s accounts of refueling planes in mid-air and reporting to duty after 9/11 are among the compelling stories he will share. This event is free and open to the public. Please call the library at 217-935-5174 to register.
